The Office of Emergency Management's mission is to coordinate and facilitate West Virginia University emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation efforts to protect our students, faculty, staff, resources and critical infrastructure. We dedicate significant time and resources to coordinating preparedness throughout campus between state and federal government agencies.

WVU Alert
Sign up to receive real-time texts and emails regarding emergencies and incidents on or near campus. Students are automatically enrolled through their MIX email, but they should add their phone number if they have not already provided it to the University. Students also can add parental contact information through their account, and faculty and staff can register to receive alerts at any time. We encourage all users to regularly check their WVU Alert accounts to ensure their contact information is registered and updated.
