Campus Security Authority

As a Campus Security Authority (CSA), individuals and organizations at the University, because of their function for the University, have an obligation under the Clery Act to notify the University of alleged Clery Act crimes that are reported to them or alleged Clery Act crimes that they may personally witness. If you would like to request training from the Clery Act Coordinator, please email CleryCompliance@mail.wvu.edu.

CSAs can use the reporting form to submit information on an alleged Clery Act crime. The Clery Act Coordinator and other campus security personnel evaluate each CSA report to determine if the incident requires the University to issue a WVU Alert (Emergency Notification) or Campus Warning (Timely Warning). Because these notifications are designed to enhance the safety of the campus community in a timely fashion, it is critical that pertinent information be provided as soon as it is available.

CSA Report Form

Note: The CSA reporting form is NOT a method of notifying police of an emergency, dangerous situation or other hazard. In the event of an emergency, call 911. If you need to make an official police report with University Police to report a crime, call 304-293-3136 or 304-293-2677.
