Behind the Badge: Meet UPD’s Brandon Moser

The WVU Police Department is taking you “Behind the Badge” to introduce our campus community to the dedicated police officers, campus safety officers and dispatchers who keep our University safe.

Officer Brandon Moser has always had a passion for public safety, balancing his job as a police officer and a volunteer firefighter while earning a criminal justice degree.

Over the past seven years, he has dedicated his career to law enforcement. Brandon grew up in Dublin, VA, and took his career to Pulaski, VA; Wintergreen, VA; and Rockledge, FL. While in Florida in 2023, he received a lifesaving award for his efforts in the community.

Over the years, Brandon’s interest in community policing grew, and he began searching for a more community-oriented law enforcement agency whose officers are proactive and engaged in the communities they work in. His search led him to UPD in February 2024.

Brandon is committed to being an approachable and community-focused officer. “I love helping people and being the person that the general public and WVU students can come to for anything they need,” Brandon shares. “I also work hard to show a community-focused and friendly side of policing. Thankfully, at WVU, I get the chance to do just that.”

We’re proud to have him as part of the WVU team where he continues to make a positive impact on the community. Thank you for your service, Brandon!
