University Police holding self-defense training open to campus community

Students, faculty and staff are invited to join University Police for a P.R.O.T.E.C.T. training on Monday, March 25, to learn valuable self-defense techniques.

P.R.O.T.E.C.T. is an immersive training that uses hands-on demonstrations to provide participants with the skills needed to recognize a threat, escape an attack and get to a safe place to call for help. Participants will learn striking techniques, takedowns and escape holds and will gain information on developing situational awareness.

The training will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. in room 101 of the Student Health Building.

Registration is not required, and all WVU community members are welcome to join.

Parking is available in nearby parking lots. The PRT and Mountain Line buses are also available.
